KVK: Chamber of Commerce on course with a future-proof digital landscape

| minute read

The Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) faced a challenge shared by many large organisations: an outdated, fragmented IT environment and an ever-growing portfolio of data products. Nearly sixty bespoke solutions required constant maintenance, all while the organisation was navigating a complex digital transformation.

Watch the full case video to see how KVK simplified complexity and regained control.

To serve entrepreneurs better, faster, and more digitally, KVK took a critical look at its infrastructure and services. They called on Sopra Steria to help get things back on track.

Together, they revived two stalled programmes, the renewal of the IT landscape and the rationalisation of data products, and brought clarity through governance, planning, and execution. The product portfolio was reduced from sixty to sixteen, underpinned by a clear vision built around four core offerings.

Under the bonnet, a new, scalable platform was developed. The well-known KVK extract was completely rebuilt, and modern APIs now give external parties, from banks and law enforcement to entrepreneurs, direct access to reliable, up-to-date information.

The result? A simplified, future-ready digital landscape, and an organisation once again defined by trust, control, and predictability.

As a partner, we put ourselves in the entrepreneur’s shoes. What do they want? They want to do business with confidence. Starting from that, we looked at the portfolio, nearly sixty products, and asked: what truly adds value?
