Laure Brumont

Chief Sustainability Officer

Laure Brumont didn't arrive at sustainability through a sustainability career, she arrived through ten years inside the machinery of industrial complexity, carrying a stubborn question that ran through her entire career before she ever called it "sustainability": what a product is designed to become, and what happens once its lifecycle ends.

She started as PMO on a large-scale SAP program, then moved into managing IT project crises as a Business Project Leader, work that trained her to read organizational stress under real operational pressure. She then took on team leadership roles in customer services while continuing IT project crisis management, before going to design IT strategy and vision, then staying on to translate that strategy into tactics.

One of those tactical projects put her in charge of building one of the biggest european IT innovation lab, the first innovation lab she would build, though far from the last. The project reshaped her career: she became Head of Innovation for Sopra Steria's PLM division, running a business-and-IT "playground" that produced major industry events around industry 4.0 concepts, including the full demo program at the Paris Air Show, Le Bourget 2019, where she was already presenting Design to Green concepts. It was the design-phase half of her original question, made tangible years before she'd name the other half.

A move to Singapore as Quality Lead and Business Continuity Lead followed: building a Quality Management System from the ground up, under real legal and regulatory pressure. It was there, still turning over her original question about product end-of-life, that she discovered circular economy thinking. A master's degree on the subject followed, along with the realization that the challenge extended far beyond her original question.

Back in Europe, she spent a year in internal R&D on extra-financial reporting, supported the build of a sustainable development advisory practice in France, and worked alongside a CSR team before moving fully to the function side as Chief Sustainability Officer.

Today, Laure leads Sopra Steria BeLux's Sustainability Office, carrying the same instinct that shaped her path, treat sustainability as a systems, business continuity and lifecycle problem, not a compliance checkbox, into governance, employee mobilization, and client-facing offers spanning climate, DEI, digital responsibility, and solidarity.
