Paris, May 13, 2024 - Sopra Steria, a major player in the European tech sector, has been recognised as a leader in the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) 'Supplier Engagement Leaderboard' for the fourth consecutive year. This rewards the group's continuous commitment to fighting climate change notably by actively collaborating with its suppliers.

Sopra Steria is one of the 13% of companies to have achieved Leadership level in the "IT & Software development" category. This recognition underlines the work carried out by the European group on various criteria, such as governance, objectives, scope 3 emissions and the commitment of its supply chain to climate issues.

"With 82% of our CO2 emissions coming from our suppliers, we are particularly proud to be recognized for our commitment to our supply chain. As a European leader, it is our responsibility to involve our entire ecosystem in a collective and coordinated transition, and that is why we have been engaging our suppliers in climate action for over five years. Without this close collaboration, no one can achieve these environmental objectives, and that is an outcome we refuse to accept," comments Axelle Lemaire, Global Head of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Sopra Steria.

“It is a pleasure to welcome the 450+ companies that have made it onto CDP's 2023 Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. The Leaderboard highlights companies proactively working with their suppliers to ensure climate change action cascades down their supply chains through supplier engagement, governance, Scope 3 emissions accounting and target-setting. As a Supplier Engagement Leader, Sopra Steria is demonstrating supply chain leadership, a prerequisite for the transition towards a net-zero, nature-positive future”, adds Simon Fischweicher, Director of Supply Chain and Reporter Services, CDP.
