Last week, the Belgian Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden, presented the first renewed kids ID. As with the electronic identity card (eID), which was renewed in 2020, Sopra Steria is a proud supplier of this project since 2002. Working in proximity with IBZ - SPF Intérieur, we have actively contributed to the improvement and safety features of both the eID and kids ID.
The improvements are aimed at making the electronic identity document safer and long lasting. Although not mandatory, the Kids eID allows children to travel within the European Union and other countries in the region. Therefore complying with the latest border control requirements.
