Natalia Guerra

Meet Natalia Guerra, Business/IT Analyst at Sopra Steria Luxembourg, working for the European Parliament. She is originally from Colombia, did her Master’s degree in Spain, moved to Budapest to work for a big company, and then arrived in Luxembourg to work with us. Since then, she has been happily employed at Sopra Steria for over five years.
What do you do on a daily basis?

As a Business/IT Analyst, I am the link between the end-users and Developers, and I clarify the goals of the project. At this moment, I am also the team leader of a team of 5 people working for the European Parliament, so my tasks are diverse. I plan releases based on key user’s needs. Additionally, I coordinate my team's tasks, shifts, and also take on some project management responsibilities. I enjoy the daily challenges that come with my role, even though I deal with unpredictable situations.

What are the most important qualities for a Business/IT analyst?

Normally as a Business Analyst we are not technical, but our role requires to be curious all the time. I don’t assume anything, and I always ask around even if something seems very logical. The most important thing is to be open-minded and really listen to what other people have to say to understand their point of view and understand their expectations, in order to propose the right solutions.

What project are you working on?

I am currently working on four applications, so with my team we are in charge of following the evolution and maintenance of the applications in the Parliament. For this, we constantly need to anticipate outcomes. What I appreciate most about this project is that we can witness the tangible results of our efforts over time. The project is always evolving, so there’s always something new to take care of.

Why do you think people should work at Sopra Steria?

My experience at Sopra Steria so far has always been really good. It’s an open-minded company, and they always have been helpful and mindful to me. I can conciliate my personal life and work easily by adapting a project that fitted my working hours and maternity permit. Sopra Steria always supports employees to grow. They offer a lot of trainings to their employees, technical or work-related trainings but also in different fields such as emotional intelligence. I also like the warm atmosphere at Sopra Steria, I feel that there’s always someone looking out for me. I am proud to be a part of Sopra Steria and I would recommend the company to everyone else.

If you could switch jobs for one day with someone else at this company, what job would you choose?

If I could switch jobs with someone at Sopra Steria, I would take the job of our CEO because I would like to oversee Sopra Steria's priorities and main mission.

If Sopra Steria was an animal, what would it be?

If Sopra Steria was an animal, it would be an elephant. It’s big but not too big. The Group is enormous, but the environment stays “small”, friendly and warm. Even if the company is dealing with huge projects, they still remain close to their employees, no matter what.
